HVAC and plumbing
Answer the service call while the crew is already on a roof.
Capture the address, the problem, and how urgent it is. Then follow the on-call rule you wrote.
What gets in the way
- Estimates and 'are you open' calls arrive while everyone is in a truck.
- A no-heat call at night should not sit in voicemail until Monday.
- The office cannot tell a real emergency from a next-week tune-up until someone asks.
How a call can go
The agent asks what is going on, where the property is, and a callback number. If your rules say to transfer an urgent call to the on-call technician, it transfers to that number. If the rule says take a message, it writes the note. It does not promise an arrival time you did not approve.
Questions worth asking first
Will it dispatch a technician by itself?
Only along the path you configured. If no transfer number is listed, it takes the message instead of inventing a dispatch.
Can it quote a repair?
Only a price or range you already wrote into the knowledge base. Otherwise it offers a message for the office.
Does it cover plumbing the same way?
Yes. The greeting, service area, and on-call rules are the company's. The motion — answer, sort, transfer or message — is the same.
