How an AI receptionist changes the phone.

Practical pieces on coverage, missed calls, handoffs, and what the agent should refuse to invent. Figures on this page are industry patterns, not JIC measurements.

~80%

of callers who hit voicemail hang up instead of leaving a usable message.

Minutes

A lead contacted quickly is far easier to help than one left until the next morning.

One desk

Answering, messages, transfers, and follow-up workflows do not need five separate tools.

Questions we get first

How do calls reach JIC Agents?

Forward your existing number, or use a number we provision for you.

Where does business information come from?

The first pull is one knowledge snapshot: hours, address, services, pricing notes, on-call. You edit it in the portal.

Can it book appointments?

Only when a calendar is connected. Otherwise it captures the request and the preferred time.

Can it connect to the tools we already use?

Yes. CRM, SMS, email, and calendars can receive the outcome. The live knowledge lookup stays on the website so the call does not wait on a side workflow.

How is pricing set?

Draft tiers are on the pricing page. A real quote depends on minutes, numbers, and integrations.

Will callers know it is AI?

Yes. The greeting should say so. We do not recommend a script that pretends to be a person.

Can it take an order or reach a department?

Yes, when you write the rule. A pickup order can go to the kitchen. A caller who needs a nurse, billing, or another desk can be transferred. If nobody is free, it takes the message.

Can it give medical or legal advice?

No. It can follow a nurse-triage script you approved, share office facts, and take a message. Clinical or legal advice stays with a person.

Is this HIPAA certified?

No certification is claimed. Pediatric and other regulated workflows need a separate review of vendors, agreements, and data flow before they go live.
